Goodbye MySpace
Recently I started using myspace, mostly because just about everyone I knew used it, and I wanted to be social. Then slowly various things about the site began to piss me off, the horrible interface, the "routine mantainence of profiles", and the general neediness of people's profiles. Which almost always included some random song I didn't want to have to listen to through my own music, and looking at the various backgrounds and layouts people had made for their profiles, it made me think, "I don't care enough about this profile enough to warrant learning more about this horrible interface than I already know". So for a little while I stopped using the site, that was till I discovered the one part of the site that was actually well designed, the blogging system. Until that point I had been using a blog over at last.fm which was nice, but the setup at myspace was much nicer. And so for a time I returned to the community of drunken jpegs and hammered gifs, and before long I realized the only thing I used the site for was the blog, and decided to just finally give up on MySpace for good and setup a dedicated blog at a site that was known for a good blog setup. I've decided that since I actually want to write about something here, and not just rant randomly, I'll be writting about webcomics, recomending good ones you may not have heard of. And perhaps discussing the plot line in the comics that have a focus on the plot, like Megatokyo or Dominic Deegan. But welcome to my blog, hopefully someone will read this.
